Why the Tech Summit?
Formally known as Cyber Risk, the TAG Tech Summit 2017 is the premier technology conference in Northwest Washington. We draw participants from the entire Pacific Northwest region. The Tech Summit 2017 is a comprehensive tech event covering many topics.

The majority of time is spent in large groups in interesting, and engaging general talks about cyber security in the cloud and on devices, user centered design, highlights of local tech businesses, and war stories. You will also have the opportunity to connect with your area of specialization peers during innovative break out sessions. The TAG Tech Summit will have leaders in these field reporting, presenting and connecting with YOU all day. This conference will make you more effective in your job and enhance your skills that relate directly to your roles at work.

About the day:  Hear from a variety of nationally recognized tech leaders and local innovators, each sharing their expertise and perspective regarding cybersecurity, cloud computing, Dev Ops and Internet of Things (IoT).

The day blends large group talks with panels of experts and breakout sessions to dive deep. Keynote:  Dan Price, Founder of Gravity Payments – On innovation and building the best team. What made for building a credit card company based on relationships, what he’s focused on in order to keep customer’s data secure, and his top business practise and cybersecurity recommendations for any business that processes payments.

Todd Bishop, co-Founder of Geekwire pulls together a panel on Security in the Cloud.

Kim Green, started Kazo Security in February 2016 after 25 years of experience as an IT professional performing cybersecurity audits for state agencies and healthcare companies. Kazo  consults large-scale companies on security compliance and best practises. Kim poses real-life solutions and outlooks to some of the common risks businesses are encountering today, and should expect to in the near future.


Tech Track: IoT and Cyber threats. Moderated by Dr. Erik Fretheim, Director, Computer Information & Systems Security Program at Western Washington University, with WatchGuard Security.

Conference check-in and badge pick-up opens at 7:30 am with a continental breakfast. Program begins  at 8:00am on Thursday (October 19th) at the Bellingham Ferry and Cruise Terminal at 355 Harris Avenue, Bellingham, WA 98225 . We do hope that you will be able to join us for the entire conference.

Parking: Parking is free and open at the Bellingham Ferry and Cruise Terminal other than in the front row under restricted time parking.

Accommodations: Our hotel sponsor, The Home2 Suites has generously set aside a room block at a discounted rate of $99.00/night for conference participants from October 18, 2017 – October 20, 2017. The special room rate will be available until October 11th or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.
